  Building the Rudder

Time to move on to the rudder!  We ran into a couple of gotcha's here - but nothing major.  Just more learning.  The first one occurred when we decided to back rivet the strengtheners to the skins.  It works great as long as you have the skin on the back rivet plate.  On the initial riveting we were quick enough to move the skin so that the hole being riveted was always over the back rivet plate.  The opps occurred when we were checking the rivets with the rivet gage and put a few more taps on the rivet gun.  Opps - not over the back plate - what's that new pleat doing in the skin?  I watched Jan do one and then turned around and proved to her that I could do it too.  Now that's teamwork!

The other issues weren't gotcha's as much as things that made me wonder if missed something.  It was time to email the factory for advice.  These kits are so precise that anytime I see parts that don't line up I have to figure it's my fault.  Fortunately that wasn't the case and there really was no problems.  See the pictures below for more detail.
